Title: Proofreader & Virtual Assistant
I am currently living in Roselle, IL and disabled. I am not ready to be retired. I enjoy working and being useful, as well as making more money than I get from Social Security disability payments. I still have much to offer and to give, but a commute is not a possibility for me. That is why I am looking to work as a virtual assistant. If you give me the opportunity, I can be a real asset and take care of all your administrative needs.
I am highly detail-oriented and excellent at organizing things. I have years of administrative work experience in the US Navy, university, and corporate world. I am also a graduate of the prestigious Proofread Anywhere training program. I was able to get 100 percent on my final exam—proofreading a three-page document. I also have bookkeeping experience and am good with numbers. I have years of experience working with computers, including internet research. If you need someone who can do proofreading, bookkeeping, research, and many other administrative services (travel arrangement, website development, calendar, email, and social media management, etc.), then I am the one for you.
I became disabled because of degenerative arthritis in my ankles. My ligaments were literally falling apart, and it was getting harder to walk. After having a couple of ankle fusion surgeries performed on both legs, I was walking for a while, but my ankles did not hold up. I now use either a walker or a wheelchair. Problems with swollen legs, wounds, and cellulitis make it too difficult to work a job with a commute.
That is the reason I am looking for a work-at-home job. I have concluded that a proofreading or virtual assistant position would fit my abilities, skills, and situation. More importantly, I could be a real asset for the right client.
