Title: Copyeditor and Proofreader

Certified Proofreader Overview

As a career C-level executive assistant in both the hospitality and healthcare corporate spaces, my first true love is editing and proofreading. I have that blessing/curse combo of an eagle eye and, honestly, can't even read a restaurant menu without first finding the errors. I'm a fun date. But after discovering Proofread Anywhere's General Proofreading, I dove right in, learned new skills and refreshed old, and found where I'm supposed to be next because this 9-5 just isn't cutting it anymore! I hold an art degree and also studied secretarial and office management with a then prestigious and very intense program in the Washington, DC area, The Katharine Gibbs School, many years ago. Art is still a big part of my life, but it is primarily a hobby and therapeutic. What I hop out of bed for in the mornings is proofreading. I just love it. I am naturally a nurturer (I've raised four children, three dogs, and a whole mess of their friends), and I believe that's why I love to work with writers, let them rest for a bit after they've written, and make sure their hard, passionate work is going to shine its brightest.  My interests run the gamut, and I haven't met a subject yet I've chosen to turn down. There is one space I take a particular interest in... as a survivor of domestic violence and a 27-year narcissistically abusive marriage, I would love to secure a few clients who represent these areas professionally, be them therapists, lawyers, doctors, accountants, judges, the clergy, first responders. This is a way I know I can give back, and because I now speak that language fluently, I can help make that voice louder.
