My old Quilting Bee quilt lives again!
Once upon a time, there was a pixel trading club called The Quilting Bee. I was an active member between 2004 right up until it closed in 2014. During those 10 years, it was my main home on the Internet, perhaps even more so than my own website.
I’m a digital hoarder who keeps almost everything I make for the Internet, but my quilt was one of the things I thought I had thrown out. Turned out I was wrong though because I found an old external hard drive and lo and behold: my quilt!
So now I have my Q*bee quilt up again ❤️🐝
The admin script is removed but everything else is (almost) just as I left it. I will keep it up here as a homage to the wonderful place that was The Quilting Bee and as a relic of what I think of as the golden age of the Internet. At least it was for me.
Oh, and if you wanna trade patches just let me know.

Tiny chicken pixels
Many years ago I was a member of a forum called Vegetarian Option. It was a general message board, not about vegetarianism despite its name, and for some reason the layout and logo featured chickens. I remember it as a very fun and slightly random place.
I ended up making some icons for the forum, for different user roles and such. Chickens, of course! In different colours and attire. I thought they had been lost in the ether but recently I dug up an old .bmp file with them! The chickens have been added to the animals pixel page. 🐥

New layout: Hedvig
Decided to make a new layout! Considering the witch and bats it probably would’ve made more sense during Halloween, but here we are. 😆
I called the theme “Hedvig” because that’s her name. The witch I mean. The cat is Franz. Don’t know what the bats are called though, they haven’t told me yet.

Site has its own domain now
You know what? Screw it, we’re giving this place its own domain. 🥳 I’ve always had this weird (and unjustified) problem with subdomains and prefer giving projects their own domains. So here we are: hexedpixels.com

Changed the site name!
Right, I’ve decided to change the site name to Hexed Pixels. “IK Pixels” just sounded waaay too boring for my tastes. The name felt kinda meh even when I launched the site back in August of last year, but I didn’t have time to figure out something better until now.
So now I’ve settled on Hexed Pixels because of my love for all things witchy. 🧙♀️🖤
To reflect upon this change I’ve also tweaked the layout a bit. Will edit the link buttons asap too.

Added some link buttons
Made a bunch of 88×31 buttons for the site. They can be found on the links page. Making the buttons had the side effect of making me hate the site’s name though. 😅 So… We’ll see if I change it in the future.

Welcome to my new site!
Decided to make a dedicated pixel art/doll site. The pixel art stuff felt so out of place on my regular site I figured it was better to give it its own space. This also gives me an appropriate place to live out some old web nostalgia. 😊
