The period of adolescence is most closely associated with the teenage years though it's physical and psychological growth and development. Adolescence experience significant changes in their ability to assess and comprehend complex situation and information and in their desire to become independent, unique individual. NORMAL PHYSICAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT The beginning of biological growth and development during adolescence is significant by the onset of puberty, which is often defined as the physical transformation of child into an adult. During the teen years, adolescents experience changes in their physical development at a rate of speed unparalleled since infancy. Also known as Tanner stages, Sexual maturity ratings (SMRs) are a way of assessing the degree of maturation of secondary sexual characteristics. Sexual maturity ratings (SMRs) is based upon a scale of secondary sexual characteristic that permit health professionals to gauge the degree of pubertal maturation that has occurred among adolescence, regardless of chronological age. Sexual maturity ratings (SMRs) is based on the appearance of public hair, the development of breast, and occurrence of menarche among female. Sexual maturity ratings (SMRs) are widely used to assess adolescents' physical development during puberty in five stages (from preadolescent to adult). Those five stages are explain in this table.

During its development, the adolescent will always try new things either positive or negative. One of them is personal fable. Personal Fable is "a story that we tell ourselves about ourselves, but the story was not true". The word fable means fiction that is not based on facts, usually with animal figures. There are many factors that cause both personal fable from within the adolescent themselves as well as from environmental factors where the adolescent lived. Actually, personal fable is a normal stage that experienced by all adolescents, which is contained in a self-centeredness that encourages adolescents to the personal fable. In its development, a teenager who suffered personal fable is normal to certain restrictions. However, there are some characteristics of adolescents were personal fable: (1) They believe that something bad situation could happen to everyone except them; (2) They feel themselves special that no individuals other than those who can understand what they are doing; (3) Several studies examined that a teenager who was having personal fable rather take the challenges that could harm him. If the teen is already experiencing excessive personal fable, there are some treatment that should be done. Treatment itself is done by parents as a mediator between the adolescent worlds with the real world.
