Nextcloud Client (Linux): Error when synchronizing encrypted files

Nextcloud Client (Linux): Synchronisation of encryted filed
  • Nextcloud Server version
    • 31.03.13, managed Nextcloud by Hetzner
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Linux Mint
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
    • No, also after rebooting and reinstalling the desktop app the error keeps on occurring
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • Upload for the fist hundred files worked, then it interrupted and stopped working

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I use the Nextcloud Desktop-Client Version 4.0.6 (Linux). I would like to upload around 300 GB of data to en encrypted folder (end to end encryption). What I first need to admit in comparison to my HiDrive Cloud (also end to end encrypted) the upload is very slow. Not so much the upload of large files. More that there seems to be an initial process with each file which takes quite a while (1-2 seconds), independently from the size of the file.

Anyhow, after the while the synchronization process would stop with the following error message:

It says wrong file path, file/folder doesn’t exist

UPDATE: I now tried uploading unencrypted filed. This works without any problem and is pretty quick too. Consequently, the issue must have something to do with the encryption. Anyone any idea?

What could I do to have a stable and reliable upload? Thank you very much.
