You can import files and folders directly to your MEGA Cloud using shared links from MEGA or Google Drive. This makes it easy to save shared content, like files or folders you’ve received, securely to your cloud drive. You can also import multiple links at once for faster transfers.
Caution
Files imported from other cloud providers may not be protected by zero-knowledge encryption, as they weren’t encrypted before import. All files stored on MEGA are still end-to-end encrypted.
How do I import from a shared link?
- Log into your MEGA account on a web browser.
- Click Upload, then Import from link.
- (First time only) Read the copyright warning carefully, then click Agree and continue.
- Enter all the links you want to import.
- Separate multiple links with commas, or put each on a new line.
- Klicken Sie auf Weiter.
- Un-tick any links you don’t want to import.
- Klicken Sie auf Importieren.
List of supported providers
You can import files and folders into your cloud drive using shared links from the following providers:
MEGA
- Navigate to the file or folder you want to share.
- Click the three dots on the right.
- Hover over Share, then click Share link.
- Copy the link.
Google Drive
- Navigate to the file or folder you want to share.
- Click the three dots on the right.
- Click Share.
- Change access to Anyone with the link.
- Copy the link.
Note
Ensure the links are not password-protected, missing a decryption key, expired, or deleted.
Additional providers will be supported in future updates.
Can I import more than one link at a time?
Yes. You can import several links at once by separating them with commas or by entering each link on a new line.

General import issues
If you see an error before the review stage, check that the link:
- Is typed or pasted correctly
- Is from a supported provider (see the list of supported providers)
- Isn’t password-protected
- Hasn’t expired or been deleted
- Hasn’t been removed for copyright or Terms of Service violations
MEGA links
If a MEGA link is shared without the decryption key, open the link first and decrypt the content. Then copy the full link.
To copy the full link:
- Open the link in a new browser tab
- Enter the decryption key and click Continue
- Once the content loads, copy the full link from your browser’s address bar
If a MEGA link still won’t import, open it in your browser and click Save to MEGA instead.
Google Drive links
If you encounter issues when importing Google Drive links, make sure access isn’t set to Restricted.
Set General access to Anyone with the link.
