How to delete Dropbox Backup

Before deleting a backup, check the following:

• You must have the Dropbox desktop app installed to delete your backup. If you've already uninstalled the desktop app, reinstall the desktop app to delete your backup.
• If you no longer have access to the device, you can delete your backup by unlinking the device from your Dropbox account.

Delete your computer backup or external hard drive backup

To delete your computer or external hard drive backup: 

1. Click 🗀 (Dropbox) in your taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac).
2. Click your avatar (photo or initials) in the bottom-left corner.
3. Click Preferences.
4. Click Backups.
5. Click Manage backups.
6. Click Delete backup.
7. Click Confirm if it’s a computer backup, or Delete drive if it’s an external hard drive backup.
