About Tacit

Tacit is a UK based organisational consultancy founded in 2014, working with government, public sector, third sector and private organisations to create better-equipped leaders, connected learning organisations, and thriving people and teams.

Tacit is led by Emily Webber, an organisational consultant, facilitator and trainer, who collaborates with specialist consultants to bring the right expertise to each unique challenge.

Emily helps organisations create environments where people do their best work. Through hands-on consulting, facilitation and training, she’s supported public, third, and private sector organisations to build sustainable change by establishing communities of practice, improving delivery practices, and fostering leadership to embed modern, collaborative ways of working that stick.

Emily’s superpower is simplifying complex concepts and combining ideas in unique ways to create new ways of looking at things. She creates models, frameworks and strategies that make work easier; tools that people actually use, and ideas that spread organically because they work.

Before founding Tacit in 2014, Emily was the Head of Agile Delivery at Government Digital Service (GDS), where she set the standard for effective agile delivery across government. At GDS, she pioneered the approach to communities of practice that has since been adopted across the public sector and beyond. She’s the author of Building Successful Communities of Practice, sharing practical guidance drawn from years of hands-on experience.

Emily is committed to growing and supporting the wider digital community. She’s founded several meetups, including the popular Agile in the Ether, and is a sought-after keynote speaker at conferences worldwide, known for her engaging, practical, experience-led talks.
