Knowing.
Doing.
To deliver health impact
Too often, great innovations stall after effectiveness research demonstrates their potential benefits (“knowing”). We close the knowing-doing gap – turning promising innovations into solutions adopted at scale through implementation science (“doing”).
Our work starts where conventional research ends. We draw on our unique combination of expertise across clinical medicine, academia, data science, regulation, venture capital, and health policy. The status quo is non-adoption of evidence-based solutions. Our tailored frameworks and rigorous methodology bridge this gap – ensuring promising health technologies achieve their intended impact for populations and health systems.

Explore our impact
Landmark TRICORDER study published in The Lancet
The TRICORDER cluster-randomised controlled implementation trial has been published in the most impactful health journal, advancing a novel framework and methodological approach to implementing and studying AI technologies in real-world clinical care.
CARDINAL programme selected as Driver Project for OneLondon’s Secure Data Environment
Building on patient-facing research programmes across prevention, early detection, and procedural prioritisation strategies, CARDINAL will use Secure Data Environments (SDEs) to advance patient care through expansion of SDE-enabled clinical pathways.
TRICORDER showcased for use of NHS real-world data
Through the TRICORDER programme, the Health Impact Lab is responsible for one of the largest clinical AI deployments in the NHS. We are uniquely measuring outcomes using NHS real world datasets, while in parallel also enriching these with AI inputs.
Sector-wide implementation study of novel diagnostic pathway wins prestigious national award
Achieved under 12 months, the Health Impact Lab converted an implementation study of a novel technology-enabled diagnostic pathway for obstructive sleep apnoea into a new, sustainably funded NHS standard-of-care – winning the national HSJ Award for Modernising Diagnostics.
TRICORDER covered by the BBC and Financial Times
The TRICORDER implementation study was featured for its novel trial design and focus on tackling priority cardiovascular disease in underserved primary care settings.
Health Impact Lab team presents impact of tech-enabled pan-London cardiac waiting list management
The Health Impact Lab has led the implementation of a London-wide technology platform for proactive management of patients waiting for cardiovascular procedures – demonstrating effectiveness and optimisation that has unlocked onward NHS funding.
Mass participatory epidemiology from the Covid 19 pandemic informs cardiometabolic health programme
Tens of thousands of patients from across the UK participated in the Health Impact Lab’s biopsychosocial wellbeing monitoring programme
through patient portals. Publications have informed health policy and are now shaping design and implementation of a novel cardiometabolic population health programme using anti obesity medication.
