Bringing together like-minded people
The HEAL Network brings together 100 investigators and 30+ organisations across Australia to turn climate-health knowledge into action.
By combining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wisdom with sustainable development, epidemiology, data science and communication, HEAL tackles the health impacts of environmental and climate change nationwide.
Research for impact
We focus on participatory, solution‑driven research that delivers strong evidence for long‑term policy and practice change. Our collaboration spans government agencies, health organisations, Indigenous partners and data providers, creating a cohesive, multidisciplinary network.
HEAL aims to lead nationally and globally in environmental change and health research, building the evidence, capability and tools urgently needed to drive action.
Goals for the HEAL Network
Improve Community Health
Protect and improve community health, especially at-risk groups and people in regions and communities disproportionately affected by environmental and climate change.
Build Health System Resilience
Strengthen health system resilience, preparedness and responsiveness to changing environmental conditions. climate extremes, and related diseases, and reduce its environmental impact.
Reduce Health Inequalities
Reduce inequities and inequalities within and across communities and generations.
