Introducing AI schematic reviews

New

DRCY is AllSpice’s AI-powered first-pass design reviewer.

image.png

It runs directly inside your existing review workflow and analyzes real schematic data alongside referenced datasheets to surface high-impact issues early, before human sign-off.

What DRCY does today:

  • Validates voltage ranges and power connections against datasheet constraints

  • Flags missing or incorrect power connections

  • Interprets regulator configurations using min, max, and tolerance ranges

  • Detects inconsistencies across nets and component configurations

  • Provides traceable findings with schematic references and datasheet citations

DRCY is not a replacement for engineering judgment. It establishes a consistent, auditable first-pass review so your time is spent on architecture and decisions, not repetitive checks.

Run DRCY on your next schematic and review with confidence.

Improved Multi-Page Parsing, Net Accuracy, and Review Performance

New

Expanded schematic coverage, stronger net analysis, and improved Design Review reliability.

This release extends support across multi-page and hierarchical schematics while improving diff accuracy, rendering stability, and overall review performance.

Highlights

Expanded DRCY and net analysis support

  • Added support for DRCY to calculate nets across multi-page Altium schematics.

  • Added support for System Capture bus entries into the net graph.
  • Added support for hierarchical Mentor Graphics DxDesigner schematics, enabling more accurate parsing and conversion of multi-level designs with improved netlists and component identification.

Repository creation update

  • Removed the ECAD Tools option when a template is selected during new repository creation.

Design Review accuracy and rendering fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Design Review diffs for OrCAD multi-page schematic (.DSN) files sometimes showed pages as added and removed instead of modified.
  • Fixed an issue where snippets for multi-page schematics failed to render in the "additional conversation" section.
  • Fixed an issue where OrCAD pad layers did not render properly.
  • Fixed an issue where an unset pageBorderSize in a .SDAX file could cause an unexpected error.
  • Fixed an issue where certain fonts displayed the wrong color in dark theme.

Performance improvements

  • Improved various Design Review performance aspects.

New feature: Quick Review

New

We heard that starting a Design Review could feel cumbersome, especially if you are not using Git. Quick Review simplifies this workflow with a refreshed UI that lets you create a Design Review in up to 4× fewer clicks. Drag and drop your local design files into AllSpice to compare two revisions or review a single revision. You can choose Quick Review or the traditional repository workflow when creating a new repository, and you can also access Quick Review from existing repositories.

Improved Review Initiation, Rename Detection, and Performance

New

Faster ways to start Design Reviews, streamlined repository setup, and performance improvements across the platform.

This release focuses on making it easier to initiate reviews, reduce friction during uploads, and improve responsiveness for large projects.

Highlights

Faster review starts with Quick Review

  • Added Quick Review when creating a new repository, allowing you to upload one or two design revisions and immediately start a Design Review.
  • Added the Upload Latest & Start Review button on the Files page of the main branch to quickly upload a new revision and launch a new Design Review.
  • Enabled file rename detection when using Quick Review to compare revisions across branches, allowing accurate comparison even when filenames change.

Simplified repository creation

  • Simplified the New Repository page by moving Visibility, Description, Issue labels, and .gitignore into Advanced settings.

  • Added an ECAD tools field to the New Repository page.
  • Removed the License field from the New Repository page.

Design Review workflow updates

  • Branch name now hides the repository owner when repositories match, and shows both owners only when they differ on the Finalize Design Review page.
  • Removed Labels, Milestone, Assignees, Participants, Notifications, and Due date from the Finalize Design Review page to reduce clutter.
  • Updated copy on the Finalize Design Review page for clarity.
  • Disabled the Submit and Commit buttons after the first click during drag-and-drop uploads to prevent duplicate submissions.

Rendering and stability improvements

  • Fixed various issues with schematic files not displaying properly in Project View.
  • Fixed various styling issues.
  • Improved performance for Design Reviews with a large number of comments.
  • Improved snippet performance.
  • Improved overall performance through caching optimizations.

New feature: Altium Variant Change Detection

We’ve added variant change detection for Altium, making it easier than ever to see when a variant has been added, removed, or updated. These changes now appear directly in the .PrjPcb file, giving design reviewers clear, traceable insight into variant updates. More intuitive, UI-based variant detection tools are coming soon!

October Updates

🚀 AllSpice October Updates

We’ve been working hard to make AllSpice smoother, faster, and more collaborative. Thanks to your feedback, we've added several powerful improvements over the past month.

💬 Comment on Individual Components

You can now leave direct comments on specific components within a component library as part of a Design Review. This makes it easier to give targeted feedback and track discussions at the component level.

🖼️ Edit Comments with Images

You can now add or remove images when editing Design Review comments in the “Changes” tab — perfect for refining visuals or updating callouts without reposting a comment.

📁 Drag-and-Drop Folder Uploads

No more uploading files one at a time or running a custom Action to extract directories with the proper hierarchy. You can now drag and drop an entire folder directly into your repository from the web interface — AllSpice takes care of the rest.

New feature: Diff Change List

New Feature: Diff Change List

We’ve added a Diff Change List to make design reviews faster and more intuitive. change list.gif

All changes itemized – See every addition, modification, or deletion at a glance.

Filter with ease – Quickly narrow the list to the exact types of changes you care about.

Click to inspect – Selecting any change will automatically highlight the component and open the attribute inspector, showing you precisely what’s different.

This update streamlines reviews, reduces back-and-forth, and helps you focus on what matters most.
