My Talk At PostgresBuild2020

I’ve already advertised my talk at PostgresBuild2020, but now I have an official image, so I can advertise it one more time. Also, all the talks are recorded, so my talk is technically done:). I will be still there, listening to myself :), and there will be ten minutes of questions.

To be honest, if I would know in advance that I will need to record my session, most likely I won’t submit a proposal. But when I submitted and it got accepted – there was no way out :).

The conference is virtual, as everything these days, and it will be in the GMT timezone, which means that those of my friends and colleagues who can’ attend Chicago PUG due to the timezone difference, will get a chance to listen to the NORM talks.

The registration is free – click here!

Did You Hear About PostgresBuild 2020 Conference? If Not, Keep Reading

2020 was a year without conferences. And it felt heavy for all frequent conference attendees like me. As for academic conferences, most of them ended up switching to the online format because pandemic or not, but everybody needs publications.

The situation was different with Postgres Conferences. Live communications were always vitally important for the Postgres community, and it was with excruciating pain that I watched the New York conference being first postponed, then canceled; then the last glimpse of hope for the first PG Day Chicago vanished. It didn’t come as a surprise that PostgreSQL Conference Europe was canceled with no attempts to move it online, along with my plans to contribute.

That being said, when several weeks ago, I received an email with a call for contributions to Postgres Build 2020, I jumped on this opportunity.

Needless to say, that now I am busier than ever, but I’ve promised to become more involved in the Europen Postgres community when Magnus was visiting Chicago last year, and I had full intention to keep this promise.

I’ve submitted two proposals, and one (my NORM talk) was accepted. It turned out that I need to record the talk before the event, which is even more work, but now I have no way back :).

That being said, for those of my colleagues who can’t attend Chicago PUG due to the time difference, there is a chance to hear my NORM talk in the GMT timezone.

Participation in the conference is free:), and my talk is on December 8 11 AM GMT. Yes, I can be up that early:)
