The deadline's coming up hard on a contest and on First Blush, but I haven't done any writing today.

Found out from mum that she doesn't just have one kidney stone... She has a stone in each kidney, and one kidney's infected. She's going in to the hospital tomorrow to put in a stint (...I think?), and when the infection is gone they'll remove that stone. What they'll do with the other they'll determine later. I'm worried enough that it's sort of ruined... well. The whole day.

It's not that I don't know that kidney stones are no big deal, or even that an infection attached to one isn't so bad. It's the fact that my mother doesn't take care of herself. How long did she have a 103F fever without saying anything? Why did she wait so long before seeing a doctor? What if she'd just decided she wasn't going to go? What if she goes in tomorrow (ok, today now) and they find out something more is wrong?

I could throttle her.

So yeah. Wasn't much in the mood for Leverage today...

However. Joel McHale tweeted this and... yeah. I have to admit I'm cheered up a bit.
