Description

BuddyPress Group Reviews allows BuddyPress members to add group reviews & give multiple to given criteria(s). After posting reviews, all reviews will be displayed in the Manage Review section of the group.
Admins can approve or deny the review. When the admin approves the review, it will be published. All published reviews will be shown in the reviews tab on the single group page. Admin can add as many criteria for the rating as he wants.

Group Ratings will also be visible on the group directory page.

Installation

  1. Upload the entire “review-bp-grps” folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

How can we submit a review to a group using this plugin?

When visiting the “/groups” section in the site, go for single group view page, there you can see a menu namely, “Reviews” that will allow you if you are a site member to add group review.

How do we allow users to give multiple reviews on the same group?

A new functionality, “Multiple Review,” has been added to this version of the plugin. In general settings, you can enable or disable it.

What will I do if I don’t want to provide review functionality to any group?

If you don’t want to provide review functionality to any group, you can exclude that group from this functionality. For exclude, the plugin can exclude groups in the General tab. Here, you exclude one or more groups from reviews.

How do you hide some rating criteria from the Review form?

You can hide criteria by disabling criteria in the ‘Criteria’ tab.

How do you change the label of the ‘Reviews’ tab or the label of the ‘Reviews’ sub-tab under the ‘Manage’ tab?

This plugin provides settings to change labels; you can see settings in the plugin’s settings ‘Display’ tab.

Why is the ‘Add Review’ option not displayed in a group I created?

This option is not displaying because group admin can’t review own group, you can add the review to only that groups in which you are not the admin.

How do you display groups’ average reviews according to reviews or ratings in the sidebar or footer?

This plugin provides a widget to show average ratings or reviews of BuddyPress Groups, you can use it for display average rating & reviews.

How can I use the review form on any other page?

Yes, you can use the review form on another page; copy the shortcode from the review settings page and paste it on the other page.

The functionality of the plugin has been significantly expanded in recent updates. Several previously mentioned shortcomings have been addressed and new suggestions have been implemented. Particularly positive are: Ability for updating reviews Different custom rating criteria for groups, definable by site or group administrators Based on my previous two-star review, it’s fair to update my assessment. While there are still a few configuration options that would be desirable from a site administrator’s perspective, the plugin is now well thought out and highly recommended. I had considered using this plugin. However, I am disappointed because the name of this plugin promises more than it delivers. I would have expected different groups to be evaluated based on different criteria. Instead, only members of different groups can be excluded from the evaluation, and the same criteria apply to all groups. Furthermore, once a review is made, it cannot be updated, only new ones can be made (“Enable Multiple Reviews”).Feature request: – Text field for personal comments should be optional, and this also applies to the almost identical “Member Review” plugin
