Yesterday a truck came barreling down the street, just as I was crossing. On its side was written KARMA in big red letters. Today I took a number at the pharmacy. 333! Maybe the Invisible Clergy has my number!
I had a good time visiting my friends. We didn't get to play either of my games. People weren't up for it after all. I was a bit disappointed, but still had a good time. We played Junta on the evening when I arrived. I supported the overthrow of the president, and was crowned king after a short but vicious revolution (I had the monarchists supporting me, so it seemed natural). I lasted two budget negotiations before everyone rose against me. I was killed by an airstrike en route to the Russian embassy with 13 million pesos in my pocket. Junta's great fun, but we've yet to manage finishing a game.
We also watched horror movies:
- The Devil's Rock: WWII: A New Zealand soldier on a sabotage mission to an unnamed channel island encounters a Nazi officer and a denizen of Hell...
- The Children: During a Christmas get-together a British family's children grow murderous and sadistic. Felt very realistic and nerve-wracking.
- The Cabin in the Woods: You've probably heard about it.
Oh yeah, we also laughed ourselves silly. A good trip.
As Rosetta Tharpe said: "strange things happening every day". Today was the day where I discovered that the Sun's Page 3 girls have begun sounding like Rupert Murduch mouthpieces. ROSIE is relieved the new welfare state will see thousands of layabouts returned to work. She said: "Britain's extravagant unemployment benefits have led to a culture of apathy which threatens to dislodge this country from its status as a superpower on the economic world stage."
Saints alive! Just the thing you want to hear from your sleazy tabloid bit of alright, eh?
