I'm pseudo-participating again this year, but I won't be doing the failing in real time thing. In other words, I'll only post FINISHED first drafts here. Reading my orphaned bits isn't terribly interesting
Shatterday the pieces break fall apart's complete seems that mister smithereens had a fate to meet told you so now tells again get your cliche's worth wish the meek could get it all even just the earth

Yesterday a truck came barreling down the street, just as I was crossing. On its side was written KARMA in big red letters. Today I took a number at the pharmacy. 333! Maybe the Invisible Clergy has my number!
I had a good time visiting my friends. We didn't get to play either of my games. People weren't up for it after all. I was a bit disappointed, but still had a good time. We played Junta on the evening when I arrived. I supported the overthrow of the president, and was crowned king after a short but vicious revolution (I had the monarchists supporting me, so it seemed natural). I lasted two budget negotiations before everyone rose against me. I was killed by an airstrike en route to the Russian embassy with 13 million pesos in my pocket. Junta's great fun, but we've yet to manage finishing a game.
We also watched horror movies:
- The Devil's Rock: WWII: A New Zealand soldier on a sabotage mission to an unnamed channel island encounters a Nazi officer and a denizen of Hell...
- The Children: During a Christmas get-together a British family's children grow murderous and sadistic. Felt very realistic and nerve-wracking.
- The Cabin in the Woods: You've probably heard about it.
Oh yeah, we also laughed ourselves silly. A good trip.
I've moved past shame, I think. Almost. I'm not writing today
I'm visiting my father in the country. Everyone else is preparing for bed, and I'm relaxing with T.E.D Klein's The Events at Poroth Farm on audio book. It's a cracker, full of footnotes and slowly mounting unease in rural New Jersey.
Oh, and I've shaved my weird hobo-beard down to a nicer length. quite a relief, really.
Speaking of my writing, my 'boss' at work is reading my fiction on this very lj. She's got a background in art therapy, so new insights into my character may be forthcoming.
Just finished watching Los Ojos De Julia/Julia's Eyes, a Spanish thriller. I was well and truly thrilled. so I recommend it.
I owe you guys many words - Fiction, Final Destinations and a bit more on In Dark Alleys. Before the end of the week. Promiz. You know what they're worth.
I'm rekindling my love of hip-hop these days. From Biz Markie to Doomtree to Tech N9ne to this Canuck:
I'm drinking sangria from a plastic cup. Keeping a certain standard costs nothing, provided that standard is sufficiently low. I'm also watching the first episode of American Horror Story. So far it's promising. Also Jessica Lange. Man, I had a crush on her in my youth.
Tomorrow's my day off, and I hope to get some writing done. Hopefully you can look forward to some mildly entertaining posts in the near future. If you're reading this, post a word or two in the comments. I'll try to work them into whatever I'm writing.
My therapist wants to see one of my stories. Which one should I show her?
