HackJNU 4.0 @ School of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru University
HackJNU 4.0 is the annual flagship hackathon of the School of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru University. This 30+hour on-site event brings together skilled student innovators from across India to design and develop technically rigorous solutions to contemporary real-world challenges. In an environment inspired by the ethos of the Matrix, where perception meets possibility, participants will immerse themselves in focused creation, systems thinking, and technological problem-solving.

- Open to undergraduate students; teams of up to four members
- No registration fee
- Themes provided by the organising committee (*not restricted to the above themes only)
- Mentorship from industry professionals and academic experts

Team Formation Details
- Minimum team size should be 2 and upto 4 members, otherwise you will be disqualified.
- The team leader should ensure all members are added before submission via the referral code at the top of the registration page.
- All participants should be currently enrolled students in a regular course across any institute in India.
Hackathon Structure
Round 1: Online Idea Submission
Teams must submit a max 8-slide presentation outlining the problem statement, proposed solution, feasibility, and innovation.
Shortlisted teams advance to the offline round.
Round 2: Initial Evaluation (Offline)
Teams present preliminary progress and clarity of approach on Day 1.
Round 3: Final Build and Presentation (Offline)
Participants complete their prototype and deliver the final presentation on Day 2.
All work must be developed exclusively during the hackathon duration.
Judging Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on:
- Innovation and novelty
- Impact and relevance
- Feasibility and practicality
- Technical depth
- Design and user experience
- Clarity and effectiveness of presentation
Code of Conduct
HackJNU 4.0 adheres to a strict professional and ethical standard. Plagiarism, harassment, misconduct, or any form of unauthorised technological exploitation will result in immediate disqualification. Participants are expected to maintain a respectful, collaborative, and academically honest environment throughout the event.
