How to play

Draw your cards

Draw your cards by pulling them out of the #draw-tarot channel in Slack.

Gain your karma

Build a project to gain karma. For every hour you spend working on a project, you receive one karma. You can log your time using Hackatime, or with Speedrunning.

Every card has a karma requirement, and it will only contribute to your karma if you can show you met it.

Share your OMG Moments

As you work on your projects you will have OMG Moments, when you get here you can then go to the draw-tarot channel and type in OMG to get a link to submit your moment.

Karma

You gain Karma through the amount of time spent on your project. For each hour you spend on a project, tracked with Hackatime, you gain one Karma. Each card that you complete and submit with your project will add a multiplier to your total karma gained through that project.

F.A.Q.

How many cards can I draw?

You can draw up to 5 cards. Once you use your cards you can not draw more.

What do the cards do?

Each card offers challenges that, when completed, act as multipliers on the time spent on your project. You can submit as many cards as you want with each project, but you can not use the same card on multiple projects.

What's an "OMG Moment"?

An "OMG Moment" is a breakthrough point in your project where items comes together. This is a moment where you can say "OMG" and then take a video of your project and submit it.

What's Speedrunning?

Speedrunning is a way to track your time spent on a project without having to use Hakatime. You can use the speedrunning form to schedule it. At this time, you then join a huddle in the #10-days-of-tarot channel, where a bot will automatically remind you every 15 minutes to post a screenshot for logs. At the end of the speedrun you then submit a short video of what you accomplished, along with a description and Github link if you have one, for your OMG moment.
