Hello Quinn, just watched your video about the screw shortening tool. As for the chamfering the ends, there might be a method other than using a file (haven't try it myself, just jumped into my mind).

It is a tool used by goldsmiths to round the end of a wire (for stone setting and such):

Sorry for delivering only a german link. (I don't think the "finishing cutter" which goolge delivers is really the right term, but it should be findable at goldsmith suppiers in the milling tool section)
