This doctoral dissertation studies the development of a poetics of precarity in contemporary tran... more This doctoral dissertation studies the development of a poetics of precarity in contemporary transcultural writings in France and Canada. Within the framework of comparative cultural studies, it examines the work of six authors that arrived in a francophone country after forced displacement due to historical conflicts such as the Vietnam war in the case of Kim Thuy (Quebec) and Linda Le (Paris), the dictatorial regime of Francois Duvalier in Haiti for Dany Laferriere (Quebec) and Louis-Philippe Dalembert (Paris) and the Cultural Revolution in China for Ying Chen (Quebec) and Dai Sijie (Paris).
This research underlines the phenomenon of enracinerrance, first developed by the Haitian poet, author and screenplay writer Jean-Claude Charles to underline the coexistence of rootedness and wandering that characterize precarious lives in movement and migration. It is increasingly pertinent to the postmodern anthropocene zeitgeist of Zygmunt Bauman's liquid modernity. It examines the notions of contemporary extreme, and resulting necessity of transcultural writings for the continuity and survival of french literature in the world republic of letters. It also understands the location of these writings under a biopolitical framework first established by Michel Foucault and later developed by Roberto Espositio.

इस बहुविषयक परियोजना के तहत मौखिक व लिखित वृत्तान्त व सैद्धान्तिक लेख ‘मेमरी स्टडीज़' अर्थात् स्म... more इस बहुविषयक परियोजना के तहत मौखिक व लिखित वृत्तान्त व सैद्धान्तिक लेख ‘मेमरी स्टडीज़' अर्थात् स्मृति अध्ययन के क्षेत्र से जुड़े हैं जो बहुभाषिकता, परासांस्कृतिक प्रवास पर केन्द्रित हैं और उन प्रवासियों पर प्रकाश डालते हैं जिनके पास मातृभूमि त्यागने के अतिरिक्त कोई और विकल्प न था। ये हिन्दी अनुवाद पाँच भाषाओं के स्वाभाविक मिले-जुले अस्तित्व के आधार पर किया गया है, जो राष्ट्र, जाति व लिंग की सीमाओं से परे जाने का एक सार्थक प्रयास है। प्रस्तुत अनुवाद संग्रह योहान वोल्फगांग फॉन ग्योठे द्वारा रचित 'विश्व-साहित्य की परिकल्पना की ओर किंचित मात्र योगदान है जो मनुष्य और मानवीयता को सम्मिलित करता है और इस प्रक्रिया में भी विलक्षण को सार्वभौमिकता के दायरे में रखता है।
