How to learn plugin. Learning path

After a few years of improving documentation, tons of videos, articles, and step-by-step guides, I still see the same questions, which makes me think that people still do not understand the proper route of learning.

So, here is my recommended route.

Let’s start. Fact about learning our plugins is a bit strange. you should NOT start to learn from our documenation. Because they are made to fit web development standards. So, you must learn web dev standards first, then it will be easy for you to learn any product.

What I can recommend – Kevin Powell Courses (free or premium). At least, take free html and css course and study it. It’s not hard. Just few days and you are fine

Next, you must choose what is better for you: GreenShift Blocks (which have more predefined blocks with ready-made designs) or GreenLight Elements (which are equivalent to HTML tags). The next article provides all the information about the difference. Do you prefer video? Here is video

Next, you must choose theme route – classic or block theme. Here is a video with a more detailed overview

Next, you select the workflow for building. Yes, any site can be made in different ways – by classes, with frameworks, without frameworks, with variables, etc. Web Dev is the technical ART, remember about this. Here is a short video with some basic workflows

Once you have selected your tools, you start to learn them. If you select to use the Block theme like Greenshift, here is a video with an overview and very detailed guide how to use block themes

Then, you start to learn Stylebook. It’s common place to add any global styles to site. It’s not required step, you can create good site without using global elements, but in 99% you should use Stylebook

Next step is to learn Layout blocks. Because this is what you will use on any site. You must keep all sections structured and same width and spacing.

Next is to learn common design panels and to learn most commonly used productivity tips

Practically, this is all for start. But I am sure that you will need at least several extra features for your site. They are: sliding panels and popups, animations, interactions

Also, I don’t think that it’s possible to make good site without connections to dynamic data, so you must study Query builder and dynamic fields. Also dynamic placeholders can be used in combination with dynamic fields.

And dont forget that we have AI helper integrated, it’s working quite good and it can make designs and blocks for you with good quality.
