Welcome to GRAPHIA!

GRAPHIA leverages cutting-edge technology and Open Science to support and multiply the impact of social sciences and humanities (SSH) research on issues of social inequality, demographics, migration, war and violent conflict, misinformation and the preservation and promotion of European cultural heritage. Through the creation of the first comprehensive Knowledge Graph for SSH enriched with Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models applications, Graphia will transform SSH data into a more machine-readable and actionable format, significantly improving SSH data visualisation and analysis capacities, empowering researchers to uncover patterns and insights from unstructured data, illuminating social phenomena and cultural trends with unprecedented clarity.

About GRAPHIA

To support this important work, organisations from eight European countries have joined forces to deliver six specific results over three years.

Comprehensive knowledge graph for SSH

The first comprehensive knowledge graph for social sciences and humanities (SSH) that integrates currently disconnected data into a single entry point and leverages existing infrastructure and data resources.

Open-source large language models

A set of open-source large language models (LLM4SSH) to represent SSH knowledge and provide a textual interface to the SSH knowledge graph and other data sources (like a social sciences and humanities-specialised ChatGPT).

New prototypes & existing solutions upgraded

New prototypes will be developed, and existing solutions upgraded and enhanced, interlinking semantically pre-enriched workflows at multiple research facilities.

A software framework

For automatic extraction, indexation, enrichment and use of citation data from any SSH resource.

Application programming interfaces

A set of application programming interfaces (APIs) enabling access to GRAPHIA services using well-established API building standards to provide unified, seamless access to the services.

Use cases

A mix of 14 research and industry use cases and pilots with varying maturity levels will be directly supported to increase innovation and further their progress towards the market.
