In a real scenario, such distance as well as other elements of the location problem can be uncertain or linguistically (vaguely) defined by the decision maker. In this paper, we manage flexibility in the coverage distance through a fuzzy constraint. So, an extension of the original MCLP model is proposed, which is solved by using a parametric approach. Computational experiments have been conducted to analyze how the proposed model can be solved and what kind of information can be obtained to help a potential decision maker to take a more informed decision.

Palabras ...

The dynamic nature of the real problems often requires reoptimize from the optimal solutions found, what may mean a significant consumption of time and funds. In this paper, in order to efficiently solve this problem, first the optimality conditions and the duality results for fully fuzzy linear programming problems (all parameters and variables are symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers) are generalized. Then, one proposes a fuzzy dual simplex method for solving these problems without the need of converting them to conventional linear programming problems. The resulting algorithm is flexible and easy of applying. For the sake of illustration, finally, an easy example is solved.

Moreover, Quadratic Programming problems are of utmost importance in a variety of relevant practical fields, such as, portfolio selection. This work presents and develops a novel fuzzy-sets-based method that solves a class of quadratic programming problems with vagueness in the set of constraints. As vagueness is natural and ever-present in real-life situations requiring solutions, it makes perfect sense to attempt to address them using fuzzy quadratic programming. This kind of problem modeling is being applied in an increasing variety of practical fields especially those with logistics problems. Some illustrative numerical examples illustrating the solution approach are solved and analyzed to show the efficiency of this proposed method.

As a consequence two new solution algorithms are obtained. These algorithms are heuristic ones with a high performance. The efficiency of the algorithms obtained is illustrated by solving some numerical examples.

The literature is replete with prescriptive integer programming models for various network design problems that do not take into account the problems inherent vagueness due to equipment costs. This paper considers the realworld wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) network design problem. The vagueness that appears in this problem is assumed and handled by means of fuzzy-set-based methodologies. A fuzzy integer linear programming model is then proposed to be used as an auxiliary model to solve the former problem. With the purpose to obtain cost-effective network designs, this model is then solved using Cplex, which is a commercial high-performance optimization engine.

The learning process is based on a generation method of fuzzy rules, a simplify method which obtains the number of rules necessary to approximate a real system, and a tuning method of control rules. All parts are based on the use of di erent genetic algorithms whose chromosomes represent the adecuated information.

Moreover, several objective functions are assumed, and the supplies, demands and conveyance capacities are, instead of point values, uncertain data expressed as intervals. One proposes a nonstandard genetic algorithm based solution method to solve the problem that extends other approaches considering only point values. 1 INTRODUCTION Genetic Algorithms (GA) are adaptive procedures of optimization and search that find solutions to problems by an evolutionary process inspired in the mechanisms of natural selection and genetic. Currently, these algorithms are being highly considered above all in those problems with complex solution spaces for those which we do not have good algorithms to solve them. In many of these cases it would be desirable to have resolution methods that provide us with "good" solutions if they can be computed reasonably quickly. In a GA, a so...
