Texas Governor’s Internship Program

   The Office of the Governor is currently accepting summer intern applications until April 15, 2026.

The Office of the Governor (OOG) offers internships for college students, recent graduates, and veterans. This program provides valuable experience and exposure to state government. Interns work alongside OOG staff across a variety of fields.

As an OOG intern, you will gain insight into how state government operates while making a meaningful impact.

Internships are unpaid. However, the OOG supports students who wish to receive course credit for their time.

Primary Duties

  • Provide administrative and program support
  • Assist with projects across divisions
  • Conduct research as requested for various projects
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and documents
  • Help create or edit agency publications, forms, and materials
  • Support special projects as needed

Additional Details

OOG internships offer hands-on experience and require in-person work during scheduled hours. Most positions are located primarily within the Texas State Capitol Complex in Austin.

Internships are unpaid. We are flexible on setting your scheduled hours/days (minimum of 20 hours and maximum of 40 hours per week).

 

Internship Sessions

  • Spring: January - May

(Application deadline: November 15)

  • Summer: June - August

(Application deadline: April 15)

  • Fall: September - December

(Application deadline: July 15)
