[7:37 PM]Foxern: Alright, well. I go by Foxern, and I made Pistol Dust. Pistol Dust is a Weird West meets High Fantasy Tabletop RPG with heavy emphasis on customizability. Pistol Dust forgoes class limitations in exchange for using experience to directly influence Talents, Abilities, and Skills. It has a ton of Talents, which are different special things that your character can do. It’s a 2d12 based system, with a Luck mechanic for crit success and failures. It also has a completely custom made magic system, using a sort of health pool called Lucidity for casting spells, rather than having slots or a mana pool. (done)

[1:02 PM]The Gamester: My name is John Thompson. I’ve been into fantasy for decades (no need to give my age away), including on and off D&D.
[1:02 PM]The Gamester: In 2022 I decided to do what I had wanted to do for ages. To create my own fantasy world.
[1:04 PM]The Gamester: Since then I created the fantasy world of Ordinem. It is a complex and large world with a massive history, which we won’t have time to discuss here. It is the world that my new novel, The King’s Pride is set in. Which is why were are here.
[1:06 PM]The Gamester: I created the world for D&D, 5e, etc and have published a compendium for the central continent of Scionos and a number of RPG adventures. However, it was always my intention that the world be coloured with stories and legends.
[1:06 PM]The Gamester: So, we come to The King’s Pride.
[1:07 PM]The Gamester: This novel is set on the continent of Scionos, in a land called Valamire. This is on the surface a feudal kingdom, but in a world where wichery and monsters really exists.
[1:08 PM]The Gamester: Is that okay for a starter, or should I continue?

The name’s Davenport. I review games.
So the other day my good buddy Omer Golan-Joel stops by my office. He’s the brains behind Cepheus Deluxe, a swell sci-fi game based on the old Traveller rules.
None of which explained why he was wearin’ a loincloth.
“Greetings, GMshoe!” he says. “I come bearing The Sword of Cepheus Second Edition, taking the Cepheus Engine and applying it to sword and sorcery!”
Well, that explained the loincloth. Kinda.
“So,” I says, “what’s the scoop on The Sword of Cepheus?”
“An abundance of swordy goodness!” he says.
Swordy…?
“A dozen playable non-human species, a huge bestiary full of vile monstrosities, fast-paced combat, and a perilous sorcery system that can mutate the caster!”
“Okay, sounds good,” I says. “I’ll give it a review. Just drop it here on my desk.”
He drops it on my desk, knockin’ over my coffee cup in the process.
“Fear not!” he says. “I have this cloth right here I can…”
“NO.”
