Board of Directors

As a member-led organization, GlobalPlatform is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of eleven representatives from GlobalPlatform Full Member companies. The Board develops and oversees the execution of GlobalPlatform’s strategy in support of its vision and mission.

Stéphanie El Rhomri

GlobalPlatform Chair

Stéphanie El Rhomri is an accomplished executive and recognized subject matter expert in Payment, Digital Identity, and Cybersecurity, in addition to expertise in Testing and Certification. She brings nearly two decades of experience driving market and technology transformation. Throughout her 15+ years at Fime, Stéphanie has held a progression of critical Vice-President roles, driving global strategy and transformation.

A proven leader in industry standardization, Stéphanie is uniquely positioned to translate complex market needs, collaborating with international payment brands, domestic schemes, and major banks, into secure, scalable solutions. She is a dedicated contributor to the standards community, having served on the GlobalPlatform Board since 2015 and as its Chair since 2021. Her direct work includes leading the development of critical certification processes, helping to shape GlobalPlatform's role as a trusted standards body.

With a comprehensive understanding of operations, strategic partnerships, and P&L management, Stéphanie brings the ability to navigate highly complex challenges and drive transformative strategies in rapidly evolving Payment and Digital Identity landscapes. She holds a Master’s Degree in electronics and computer sciences from ENSEIRB engineering school Bordeaux and an advanced certificate in corporate governance from ESSEC Business School.

Olivier Van Nieuwenhuyze

Olivier is currently Senior Manager of the Security Standards & Regulations team at STMicroelectronics, where he leads the company’s strategic positioning across multiple international security standards.

Prior to this role, he was responsible for software architecture within the NFC ecosystem and secure elements, and also served as a Project Manager.

Olivier joined STMicroelectronics in 2003, bringing with him experience dating back to 1999 in smart card projects spanning banking, transportation, and near-field communication technologies.

He became a member of the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors in 2017, and held the position of Secretary/Treasurer from 2021 to 2022. He currently serves as Vice Chair of GlobalPlatform and chairs its Security Task Force.

Juergen Hirschinger

G+D

Juergen is currently heading the Security Analysis Department within the CTO office of G+D supporting different divisions and areas with security related services. He is also related to topics of vulnerability management and internal organization of security related processes within G+D.

Juergen joined G+D in 1999 and managed several departments in the R&D area. Within this time he took over responsibility for different testing activities ranging from embedded to client server systems. He managed also an R&D innovation department on topics including  AI techniques, white-box-cryptography, chip design topics and biometry.

Currently Juergen is representing G+D in the JHAS (JIL Hardware-related Attacks Group) as well as in the DIN NIA 17 group. Since 2001 Additionally he shares his experience on software testing and embedded systems security at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.

Juergen has a master’s degree and a PhD in physics from the University of Regensburg.

Juergen joined the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors In 2024 and was appointed as Secretary / Treasurer in the same year.

Rob Coombs

Arm

Rob has worked at Arm for 20 years and is currently Director, Architecture Technology Group working in the security ecosystem team.  He has previously led the mobile and segment marketing functions at Arm and was part of the original management team of the open source engineering organization called Linaro.  His current focus is IoT and helping the electronics industry improve the security of connected devices through a framework called PSA Certified.

Rob has been a Board member since 2014.

Sebastian Hans

Oracle

Sebastian currently serves as Principal Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, previously Sun Microsystems Inc., where he is responsible for all smart card standardization activities with a strong focus on SIM and UICC technology. While at Sun Microsystems Inc, Sebastian has also headed up business development within the telecommunications market and has driven advanced pilot projects for the deployment of Java Card in the banking, insurance and mobile communication markets. Sebastian represents Sun Microsystems Inc. in ETSI SCP, 3GPP, OMA and is the Vice Chair of ETSI SCP TEC.

Sebastian serves as GlobalPlatform Board Director.

Jeremy O'Donoghue

Jeremy currently serves as Director, Engineering at Qualcomm, working within the Secure Systems Group. He is responsible for architecture and development of software focused around secure platforms and NFC. In previous roles at Qualcomm, he was the lead security architect and software lead for an NFC CLF development, and has worked extensively on telephony aspects of both Android and Windows-based mobile systems. Jeremy was also an early participant in developing the GSMA NFC Handset Requirements and Testbook.

Jeremy joined the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors in 2016, and is Vice Chair of the TES Committee.

Bill Mazzara

Stellantis

Bill is the co-chair of the Automotive Task Force at GlobalPlatform. Drawing on his extensive experience in standardizing hardware-protected security and cybersecurity engineering processes within the automotive industry, Bill is committed to guiding the sector toward a unified, secure, and scalable foundation for the next generation of software-defined vehicles.

Guillaume Phan

Thales

Guillaume currently serves as Design Authority for the Mobile Connectivity Solutions GBU in Thales and contributes in this role to innovation, strategy and roadmaps. He’s been involved in GlobalPlatform activities since 2007.

Scott Migaldi

T-Mobile USA

Scott is Senior Director, Standards and Industry Alliances with T-Mobile USA. In this role, Scott leads a group of forward-thinking, creative technical experts in development of global standards and industry guidelines for 5G and 6G systems. This role includes the development of Radio Access, Network and feature standards as well as establishing long-term visions for the evolution of wireless telecommunications. Scott ensures alignment of these activities with internal organizations and drives T-Mobile’s needs with external stakeholders.

Richard Hayton

Automotive Task Force Co-Chair

Richard is on the Board of Directors, and is also the Chair of the TES Committee and Automotive Task Force at GlobalPlatform where he contributes to the organization’s technical initiatives bringing over 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry. Richard is a regular speaker and influencer in the cybersecurity arena.

At Trustonic, Richard’s focus has been on enabling the telecoms industry – manufacturers and mobile operators, the automotive industry as well as application developers, to all benefit from embedded security and strong device identity. Prior to Trustonic, Richard held various roles at Citrix including Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer and Chief Technology Officer. During 20 years at Citrix, he led projects ranging from embedded software to global enterprise systems, with a focus on user and developer experience.

He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge University, focusing on identity federation for users, devices and services.

Marc Kekicheff

Visa Inc.

Marc currently serves as Senior Business Leader of Chip Innovation at Visa Inc. and is responsible for its smart card technology compliance globally, covering cards and terminals as well as mobile handsets. A highly regarded smart card expert, worldwide, Marc has authored several patents, is well acquainted with IT security and frequently addresses the industry through high profile speaking engagements. Throughout his career he has been a driving force in the development of global smart card technology, worldwide standards and compliance programs. He currently sits on the EMVCo Board of Managers and chairs the EMV Next Generation Task Force for the same organization.

Marc has been an active member of GlobalPlatform since its inception in 1999 and was a co-architect of the original GlobalPlatform Specifications. Since that time he has held a number of posts: he was GlobalPlatform’s Technical Director between 1999 and 2005, when he stepped down from this role and was elected to the Board of Directors and as Vice President of the organization. He then served as Chairman from 2010 until 2018. Marc has made a significant contribution to GlobalPlatform over the years and has been responsible for the following initiatives, among many others: launching and chairing the Mobile Task Force from 2007 until 2012; shaping consortium strategy; initiating industry outreach efforts; obtaining ISO recognition for GlobalPlatform by acting as a technical expert liaison for smart card standardization; and providing technical support for implementers of GlobalPlatform technology.

Executive Team

GlobalPlatform’s day-to-day operations are managed by an Executive Team, comprised of an Executive Director, Chief Technology Officer, Operations Director, and Operations Secretariat. The Executive Team works closely with a strategic communications agency to drive awareness and understanding of the organization’s work.

Ana Tavares Lattibeaudiere

Executive Director

As GlobalPlatform Executive Director, Ana is responsible for driving awareness and accelerating adoption of GlobalPlatform’s specifications globally. She also oversees the organization’s strategy, marketing and business development within key vertical sectors. Before joining she was the EVP and Head of North America for the GSMA, responsible for driving global initiatives such as eSIM, Spectrum, networks (5G, 4G), IoT, RCS, identity and gender diversity. Prior to this role, she led the GSMA global efforts on IoT across different industry verticals. Ana’s career prior to GSMA is focused on strategy, having held positions at BCG, Deloitte Consulting and Accenture. She began her career in private banking at Merrill Lynch in the area of investments in new technologies. Ana is also a proud Board member of the Global Telecoms Women Network where she drives initiatives that promote gender diversity in tech sectors.

Gil Bernabeu

Chief Technology Officer

In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Gil is responsible for defining and implementing the technical roadmap for the organization and provides counsel and guidance to the GlobalPlatform Board. He drives forward the development of GlobalPlatform’s specifications and certifications to allow markets and geographies to deploy and manage secure, value-added services. Gil also acts as GlobalPlatform’s central technical liaison point, coordinating the efforts of the technical committees, market task forces and liaisons with industry partners.

In his role at Thales, Gil supports the evolution of the Digital Identity and Security roadmap by enabling open innovation and securing participation in funded innovation projects.

Tono Aspinall

Operations Director

As GlobalPlatform’s Operations Director, Tono oversees the services and responsibilities of the Operations Secretariat and provides guidance and input to the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors and Executive team. He guides the development, implementation and enforcement of all operational policies and supports adherence to the organization’s mission, vision, and objectives.

Tono founded Alliances Management in 2006 to meet the needs of associations and standards bodies that require strategically orientated operations management. Prior to this, he was responsible for the Global Operations Secretariat at Visa International.

Bonnie Martin

Operations Manager

Alliances Management

As GlobalPlatform's Operations Manager, Bonnie leads the GlobalPlatform Secretariat team, which provides the organization with event planning, certification management, web development, technical documentation, and meeting facilitation.

Bonnie collaborates with the Executive Director and Operations Director on marketing initiatives, business strategy, operations, and internal processes. She also supports the Executive Committee and Board of Directors by managing the organization's processes and procedures, taking meeting minutes, assisting committee chairs, and tracking action items.

Before joining GlobalPlatform as the Operations Manager, Bonnie worked with Alliances Management as a Senior Web Developer, developing GlobalPlatform's website and those of other associations. She has a Bachelor of Software Development and an MBA.
