I thought we could leave at about 10am after breakfast and the walk will take 4 or 5 hours.

I'm consulting my many walking books and trying to decide on a route. Basically there are 2 to choose from, a 5.5 mile walk into the dales with one climb up to the dale top. or a 7.5 mile one into the Dove valley and to see Pilsbury castle, which is the remains of a norman castle (just earthworks but you can definitely imagine the castle benig there) This walk is a bit more hilly and is described as having "lots of stiles" but I'm favouring this one. There is a pub halfway round for lunch, or we can take packed lunch from shops in hartington.

anyway, bring your walking boots!

EDIT- to say I am a fair weather walker so will be sitting drinking tea and playing games if the weather is rubbish. It was a lovely easy run and I didn't feel too tired or achy and it was definitely do-able all the way round. Mostly because we ran very very slowly but that was the instruction!

We saw many interesting things: From Walkley post office we saw a big patchwork hot air balloon taking off from somewhere in hillsborough. Today we went to versailles. It rained the whole day (apart from when we left this morning when it looked like it might brighten up) and we got soaked. It was really really lovely though. They turned all of the fountains on at 3 (as if we needed more water, bah) and have classical music playing all around the gardens which was strange because you feel as if you're on a film set or imaginging it. Such a lovely day, such a shame that the weather was rubbish though. I imagine it would be even more stunning in the sunshine with the light reflecting off the water and being able to lie down and read a book around the lake. Tonight the weather is still foul so we'll probably stay in and drink wine and watch DVDs again.

Tomorrow I get to deal with paris all on my own. I'm spending the last few days of my holiday relaxing and frantically lesson planning at the same time :]

I love sleeping in my room here (well, when it's not covered in cat hair) I have a window that opens inwards so the whole window<\/i> is able to be made into a big open space. I always sleep with it open. This morning I woke up with the sun streaming in and the sound of running water from our pond. I've been sat out in the garden all day working, practising poi and reading. I went for a swim at lunchtime (only 45 lengths of a 20m pool so that's about 25 lengths of goodwin. Too much turning around in a small pool)and I've just spent the afternoon pootling. Yesterday I went blackberry picking and I have enough to make a considerable pie now.
Now I'm sat by my huuuge open window listening to birds tweeting (though sadly the housemartins have left their nest that they had outside my window for years), water trickling and my neighbour's cockerel crowing. All is good.

Only now I have to have an evening of boredom ahead :[ I was hoping Adrian would come down for this evening and tomorrow we'd go to clumber park and go home but he's otherwise engaged. If he goes to the pub can people be nice and check he isn't too<\/i>lonely without me :p

bleh, well i guess tonight I'm going to sit out and poi until it's dark and then watch the Coast programme, having missed all of the others. I might also watch some dodgy pirate-d fillums in my parent's collection.

I am obviously a trustworthy and good daughter. Mum told me her ebay password so I could spend lots of money if i wanted, except they'd find out. Heh, and she loves me, she bought me chocolate flavoured rice cakes, yay!

I went into work yesterday and put plants in the room, it feels a bit nicer now and i think that what's really wrong is just that it's so empty at the minute.
