How to Set Up MemberDash for GiveWP

Before you create donation-based memberships and donor perks, make sure the foundation is in place. Start by confirming that GiveWP and MemberDash are installed and activated on your WordPress site. You’ll also need a valid GiveWP license to unlock full integration features.

If you haven’t already, create at least one membership level in MemberDash—this will be the access tier you assign to specific donation levels. If your goal is to power these perks through recurring donations, be sure the Recurring Donations add-on is also installed and active.

To assign Donations to Memberships, follow these steps:

1. Set up your Campaign form in GiveWP and create donation levels that match your membership price levels.
2. Go to MemberDash > Memberships and select the membership level you want to link.
3. Click on the Donation Access tab and enable Donation-Based Membership.
4. In the Campaign dropdown, choose “All Campaigns” or select a specific campaign.
5. If you choose a specific campaign, an additional option appears to select a specific Campaign Form.
6. Set a Required Donation Amount that a donor must meet to gain access.
7. (Optional) Enable Cumulative Donations if you want the donor’s total giving across donations to count toward the required amount.
8. Set Multiple Donations Behavior to define how additional donations from the same donor are handled. By default, extra donations are ignored once access has been granted.
9. (Optional) Use the Member Perks Description field to share details about what access or benefits the membership includes.
