@woodruffw, I just saw your comment over in SchemaStore. I may try to build a little dedicated tool which "unrolls" a JSON Schema. I'll make sure to let you know -- in one forum or another -- if I do, since it could be useful here.

That would be amazing, thanks! I was looking at building exactly such a thing and wasn't looking forward to it, I'd happily use anything you build 🙂

FYI, I've put down the schema-unroller project for now -- since the dependabot maintainers have kindly reverted the changes to their schema in schemastore, it feels less pressing at the moment -- but I did start tinkering and I intend to work on it more at some point.
