Summary of Changes
Hello @xerial-bot, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request automates the update of the snakeyaml library to its latest version, ensuring the project benefits from the most recent improvements and security patches. It streamlines the process of keeping dependencies current, reducing manual effort for developers.
Highlights
- Dependency Update: Updated the
snakeyamllibrary from version2.4to2.5. - Potential Manual Updates: Several files (e.g.,
airspec/project/plugin.sbt,build.sbt,docs/release-notes.md, and variouswebsite/static/imgfiles) are noted as still referencing the old2.4version, suggesting they might require manual review and update.

Code Review
This pull request updates SnakeYAML from version 2.4 to 2.5. It's important to be aware that SnakeYAML has a critical Remote Code Execution vulnerability (CVE-2022-1471) when parsing YAML from untrusted sources using the default new Yaml() constructor. This project currently uses this unsafe constructor in airframe-config/src/main/scala/wvlet/airframe/config/YamlReader.scala. Before merging this update, it is highly recommended to refactor these usages to new Yaml(new SafeConstructor()) to mitigate the security risk. I have added a detailed comment on the version change in build.sbt.

While updating dependencies is good practice, it's crucial to address a security vulnerability related to SnakeYAML. Versions up to and including the one in this PR are susceptible to a Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability (CVE-2022-1471) when parsing untrusted YAML data using the default new Yaml() constructor.
To mitigate this, you must use a safe constructor, for example: new Yaml(new SafeConstructor()).
The current codebase has several places that need to be updated. For instance, in airframe-config/src/main/scala/wvlet/airframe/config/YamlReader.scala, the new Yaml() calls on lines 51, 59, and 68 are unsafe and should be changed.
Example of a required change in YamlReader.scala:
import org.yaml.snakeyaml.Yaml
import org.yaml.snakeyaml.constructor.SafeConstructor
// ...
def loadYaml(resourcePath: String): Map[AnyRef, AnyRef] = {
new Yaml(new SafeConstructor()) // Use SafeConstructor
.load(readAsString(resourcePath))
.asInstanceOf[ju.Map[AnyRef, AnyRef]]
.asScala
.toMap
}This is a critical security issue that should be addressed. This dependency update is a good opportunity to fix it.
