Summary of Changes
Hello @westonruter, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request focuses on improving user privacy and security by implementing a server-side instruction to clear browser cache data upon user logout. By sending the Clear-Site-Data header, the system prompts the browser to invalidate cached resources associated with the site, which is particularly beneficial for scenarios involving the back/forward cache.
Highlights
- Security & Cache Invalidation: I've introduced a new mechanism to send the
Clear-Site-Data: "cache"HTTP header when a user logs out. This aims to enhance security and privacy by ensuring that cached data, particularly related to the browser's back/forward cache (BFcache), is cleared upon logout.

Code Review
This pull request introduces a mechanism to send the Clear-Site-Data header upon user logout, which is a great step for improving bfcache invalidation and security. My review includes two suggestions:
- Adding a
headers_sent()check to make theheader()call more robust and prevent potential PHP warnings. - Using the
clear_auth_cookieaction hook instead ofwp_logout, as it's more semantically correct for this purpose and resolves theTODOin the code.
These changes will improve the code's robustness and correctness.
