Recording videos
Webcamoid allows you to record videos in widely supported formats like MP4 and Webm.
For entering to the video recording mode, press the recording button (if not already in), then press it to start recording.
A recording notice will start blinking in the top showing the currently recorded time.
Once finished, you will see a preview in the bottom-right corner, you can press it to open the latest recorded video in your system default video player application.
In the context menu you can find the Video recording setting you can tweak the recording, the same options are also Available from the Main menu/Preferences/Video Recording.
Here you can set the path where all the video files will be saved. You can also enable or disable audio recording, the video and the audio quality.
Webcamoid have support for the most important and widely used formats like MP4 and Webm, and modern codecs like VP9 and AV1, hardware encoding is also supported. Formats and codec support may vary from different platforms.
You can also Configure each codec, which require a deep knowledge of video encoding, and will not be explained in this documentation, since the basic configuration is more than enough for most users.
