When the pane is smaller in width, Markdown elements that don't wrap, like a table, get caught off the screen and there is no scrolling available. In Raw mode, you can scroll horizontally.
To reproduce
Have a small window or many horizontal panes to create a narrow pane and open a markdown file in that pane. View the file in Rendered.
