Looks like the emscripten image still uses fastcomp, while there is a new emscripten-upstream which uses upstream, and an emscripten-fastcomp which also uses fastcomp.

Could emscripten switch to upstream perhaps? That would match the default in emscripten itself. We are trying to get everyone on upstream, and hope to start plans to remove fastcomp soon.
