Daniel Williams

Research Fellow in gravitational-wave astrophysics at the Institute for Gravitational Research, University of Glasgow. I work within the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration, where I co-chair the compact binary science working group.

My research sits at the intersection of Bayesian inference, machine learning, and gravitational-wave data analysis — building the tools and infrastructure that turn detector data into astrophysics at collaboration scale.

Software

asimov Workflow orchestration for large-scale scientific analyses. Used in production by LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA across GWTC-2, GWTC-3, and GWTC-4.
heron Gaussian process surrogate waveform models for Bayesian parameter estimation.
gravpy Gravitational-wave detectability and signal toolkit.
