macOS Compatibility Status

As the main developer of Palladium does not have access to MacOS, all development, testing and support is contributor based.


Environment:

  • Blender: 4.5
  • macOS: (Specify your version, e.g., Sonoma 14.5)
  • Hardware: (Specify your Mac model, e.g., M2 Pro)

Working Models

Model Status Notes
Standard Diffusion XL Works as expected.
Flux [Dev] ⚠️ Memory Leak. Works, but leaves ~15GB of RAM in use after 35+ runs, requiring a restart.
Illustrious XL Works as expected.
Cyber-realistic XL Works as expected.
CogView4 Works as expected.
PixArt Sigma XL Works as expected.
OpenDalle Works as expected.
Proteus 0.4 Works as expected.
RealVisXL Works as expected.
Lumina Works as expected.

Models with Known Issues

Model Status Reason for Failure / Notes
Flux Schnell Major Memory Leak. The process runs away with memory and hangs the application.
Chroma Requires NVIDIA GPU. The model uses bitsandbytes for quantization, which requires a CUDA-enabled GPU. This will not work on macOS with Apple Silicon or AMD GPUs.
Sana Requires NVIDIA GPU. The model uses bitsandbytes for quantization, which requires a CUDA-enabled GPU. This will not work on macOS with Apple Silicon or AMD GPUs.

Status Legend

  • Working: The model generates an image as expected.
  • ⚠️ Works with Issues: The model works, but has performance or stability problems.
  • Not Working / Crashes: The model fails to generate, throws an error, or crashes Blender.
