What happened?
Hi,
I went to use wsjtx and AetherSDR for the first time and noticed that the audio latency on the current implementation of DAX (Linux) is slower than DAX on SmartSDR (Windows).
It seems to be off by 200 ms (Shows up as .2 higher DT)
For example, The average DT of stations while using AetherSDR is 0.4 - 0.5
On windows with smart SDR, it is 0.0 - 0.1 - 0.2
Cat control is very quick and responsive but audio latency is high on DAX.
Certain other digital modes such as Vara/VaraC Require low latency audio to function correctly.
While this doesn't totally effect WSJTX, it is annoying to know that i would have lower latency if i used SmartSDR.
This is a high-priority issue, we need to be as accurate as possible, and 200ms delay seems high for what type of NetworkSDR a Flex is.
Before you comment about it, yes, my Windows clock is accurate (NTP Synced to within 0.001)
And so is my Linux clock
ntptime
ntp_gettime() returns code 0 (OK)
time ed80fb58.0595896c 2026-04-08T16:05:44.021Z, (.021813838),
maximum error 48214 us, estimated error 1833 us, TAI offset 37
ntp_adjtime() returns code 0 (OK)
modes 0x0 (),
offset 0.271 us, frequency -10.122 ppm, interval 1 s,
maximum error 48214 us, estimated error 1833 us,
status 0x2001 (PLL,NANO),
time constant 6, precision 1.000 us, tolerance 500 ppm,
The build i am using is the current git build.
