In the linked issue there was also some discussion around catching more false negatives (e.g. a { grid-template-areas: "@ a /"; } where @ and / aren't valid cell names). But this isn't related to whitespace in between named cells.

I hope I got this one right, there was some discussion in the issue, and I wasn't sure if I followed entirely. At least to my naive eye it seemed like this could be fixed like so, I don't believe
\swould be too broad here.
