Using an older iPhone, Datastar pages don't work at all. I'm hoping this is due to a modern JS feature that can be polyfilled, but it may be something more fundamental.

iOS users unfortunately (AFAIK) can't update their browsers, because they're tied to the platform's rendering engine. Out-of-date devices are common in less developed countries, or among children who use their parents' hand-me-down phones. While we all hate accommodating Safari, I think it's unavoidable for something like D* which forms basic infrastructure for other projects.

I've tested on iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 15.8.4, but seen the same on other models.
