The strict dependency rule was not ideal and would result in frequent concretizer errors. Furthermore podio actually can be built with
cxxstd=11, so this now removes the variant alltogether and just takes ROOT'scxxstd. Also adds a patch because the cpack configuration would lead to build errors on some systems (arch).
