The copyright sign (bytes 0xC2, 0xA9) in UTF-8 should transcode in UTF-16 to 0x00, 0xA9 or 0xA9, 0x00 depending on the endianness. In particular, the copyright sign (bytes 0xC2, 0xA9) should be detected as valid UTF-8.
