Description

  • Upgrade Gradle to latest 8.x version, which unblocks the upgrade of the Shadow plugin.
  • Upgrade Shadow plugin to latest 8.x version, which fixes a vulnerable transitive depedency.
    • The plugin was migrated to new coordinates.
  • Remove deprecated snippet from settings.gradle.

Guildeines for testing

  •  Build the executable (JAR and native).
  • Run commands: there are no regressions.

The code changes look fine, and both compileJava and nativeCompile run successfully. I haven't tested it locally, because it was already tested by @tcrespog .
