Consider

Know your fights before they start.
A World of Warcraft Classic Era addon that brings back the old-school "consider" command from early MMORPGs. Instantly see how tough your target is—perfect for no-nameplate, no-frame, or Ultra Hardcore play.

Consider examples


Features

  • Instant Target Check – See difficulty based on level difference
  • Classic Colors – Red = impossible, Green = trivial, etc.
  • Custom Keybind – Uses the native WoW keybinding menu (default SHIFT+G)

Installation

Option 1: CurseForge (Recommended)

Download from CurseForge


Option 2: GitHub

  1. Click the green Code button (top-right of this page)
  2. Select Download ZIP
  3. Extract the ZIP file → this creates Consider-main
  4. Rename the folder to Consider
  5. Move it into: World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\
  6. Restart WoW or type /reload

How to Use

Setting a Keybind

  1. Open Options > Keybindings (or press EscKeybindings).
  2. Expand the Consider category.
  3. Click the Consider Keybind slot and press your preferred combo (defaults to SHIFT+G).
  4. Press Accept to save.

You can also type /consider to open the addon info window at any time.

Using Consider

  • Press your keybind while targeting a mob/player for the difficulty check.
  • Or use /con directly in chat.

Difficulty Colors

Color Meaning Description
🟥 Red Impossible You’ll get wrecked
🟧 Orange Very Hard Nearly unbeatable
🟨 Yellow Hard Tough but possible
⬜ White Even Could go either way
🟦 Blue Easier You’ve got the edge
🟩 Green Much Easier Little to no threat
⬛ Gray No Reward Too weak to matter

Commands

  • /consider – Show addon info and tips
  • /con – Quick check on the current target
  • Uses Blizzard’s native keybinding save system
  • Clean chat notifications
