We're already reserving the sizeof keyword for just such a purpose (along with typeof), so clearly someone else out there cares about this issue.

Thanks for writing this up! In general this feature interacts with compile-time-function-evaluation quite closely. At this time we do not see the need as sufficient for changing the language for specifically the use cases mentioned.

We would like to add a feature such as this to the language, but this could be done after 1.0 in a backwards compatible way. I'm tagging this as postponed and closing this for now.
