I use a LaTeX template that includes metadata for the contact author's email address. Compiling in pandoc from the command line works fine, but when called via rmarkdown, pandoc chokes. I haven't been able to track down what option is responsible for the behavior, though removing the @ symbol from the metadata seems to fix it.
