Bookdown: Chapter titles containing accents generates errors #1000

@carloslederman

Description

@carloslederman

I have created an Rmd file called referencias.Rmd and the first line contains # Referências

When knitting comes the following error message: D:/usuarios/amb02/Projeto Carlos Lederman/organizado 2020 07 24/R Studio/projetos gloss inahta/p01 inhata/diretorio inhata01/docs/referências.html not found

If I do rename the file as referências.Rmd (with the accent) I receive the same error when knitting: :/usuarios/amb02/Projeto Carlos Lederman/organizado 2020 07 24/R Studio/projetos gloss inahta/p01 inhata/diretorio inhata01/docs/referências.html not found

If I do not use accents into the file name and on the chapter title, no problem happens.

    • If I'm filing a bug report, I have included a minimal, self-contained, and reproducible example, and have also included xfun::session_info('bookdown'). I have upgraded all my packages to their latest versions (e.g., R, RStudio, and R packages), and also tried the development version: remotes::install_github('rstudio/bookdown').
    • If I have posted the same issue elsewhere, I have also mentioned it in this issue.
  • I have learned the Github Markdown syntax, and formatted my issue correctly.

I understand that my issue may be closed if I don't fulfill my promises.
