Make sure the link to code I suggested are all working by compiling locally once you accepted my comments :)

open_plan (https://open-plan-tool.org/) is building an open source tool to plan the design of a single energy cell. It will extend on the existing features of MVS to fullfil the requirements of its pilot projects. The project open_plan is funded until December 2022, the developement of the graphical user interface will happen on the github repository of open_plan https://github.com/rl-institut/open_plan

  • Check if :func: and :mod applied consitently
  • One more sentence explaining why it is expected due to the energy carrier weighting approach would help the reader

This validation method is commonly used. However, one model cannot absolutely validate another model or claim that one is better than the other. This is why the focus should be on testing the correctness, appropriateness and accuracy of a model vis-à-vis its purpose. Since the MVS is an open source tool, it is important to use a validated model for comparison, but also similar open source tools like urbs and Calliope for instance. The following two articles list some of the models that could be used for comparison to the MVS: `A review of modelling tools for energy and electricity systems with large shares of variable renewables <https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rser.2018.08.002>`__ and `Power-to-heat for renewable energy integration: A review of technologies, modeling approaches, and flexibility potentials <https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apenergy.2017.12.073>`__.
A comparision of the results of different models regarding an identical reference system is a validation method that is commonly used. However, one model cannot absolutely validate another model or claim that one is better than the other. This is why the focus should be on testing the correctness, appropriateness and accuracy of a model vis-à-vis its purpose.

The following two articles list some of the models that could be used for comparison to the MVS: :ref:`(Ringkjøb, 2018) <reference_bibliography>` and :ref:`(Bloess, 2017) <reference_bibliography>`. A thorough comparison to other models able to perform optimizations for sector-coupled energy systems is something that should be performed in the future.

Ah, actually there is some sector coupling in there: https://reiner-lemoine-institut.de/en/flexmex. But it is interregional systems, not local systems.
