Before deleting a consumer, one should reassign its pending messages to other consumers using the XPENDING and XCLAIM commands.

It will be useful if a check is put in place to confirm that the PEL for that consumer is an empty list prior to deleting it - provide message to user with a summary count and advise reassignment of those pending messages to other consumers in group.
