One point of interest is that
tagnameparameter is sometimes passed directly toxml.etree.ElementTree.Element.But itself has the parameter typed asstr | Callable[..., Element], which really doesn't make sense to me looking at usages, and there's no comment explaining why. It really seems like thetagparameter ofElement.__init__should not beCallable.Also, even thoughElement.itertextdoes check for possibleNoneself.tag, the docstring and documentation do suggest it should only be astrEdit: see #10968
That being said, I may need to update some of mytagnameparameters to not be possiblyNonein some/most scenarios.Done
