For context, I use pre-commit.ci to autoupdate the versions referenced in the .pre-commit-config.yaml file in some of my projects. The latest autoupdate I've seen (betafive/meta-linux-mainline#35) migrates the repo for black from https://github.com/psf/black to https://github.com/psf/black-pre-commit-mirror, but I can't understand why this change is being made and what the consequences of it will be.
